Skip Trace Hit Rate

The share of records in a skip-trace run that come back with a usable phone number or email.

Definition

Hit rate is the percentage of input records a skip trace returns a usable contact for. Feed 1,000 property owners and get 700 phone numbers back, and the hit rate is 70 percent. Rates depend on data quality, how stale the input is, and how many contact points you count. A high hit rate means little if the numbers are wrong, so raw match rate and verification are separate questions.
