DSAR

A formal request from an individual to access, correct, or delete the personal data a company holds about them.

Definition

A Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) is a request made under privacy laws like GDPR or CCPA/CPRA in which a person asks an organization to disclose, correct, or delete the personal data it holds about them. Companies must verify the requester's identity and respond within a set deadline. Contact-data platforms need a process to receive DSARs, locate the person's records by provenance, and erase them on request.
